Rozelle convenience store explosion: owner too ill to appear in court

Adeel Khan, the owner of a Rozelle convenience store destroyed by an explosion and fire on September 4, was too ill to appear in court this week. Mr Khan has been charged with three counts of murder and two of attempted murder, three counts of manslaughter and 17 other charges including setting fire for a financial gain.

Mr Khan, who was represented by solicitor Michael Vassili and barrister Mark Fozzard, is in Long Bay prison hospital and Central Local Court heard he was too unwell to appear via video link. He is scheduled to reappear in Central Local Court on January 27.
