Mrs Mac’s goes gluten free

Mrs Mac’s has launched a range of gluten free pies and rolls.

Mrs Mac’s gluten free range includes two pies, a beef roll with added vegetables and a curried vegetable pie, as well as a sausage roll and a vegetarian roll with vegetables and ricotta.

According to Mintel GNPD report, there have been more than 72,000 products launched with a gluten free claim globally since 2010 – an average of 12,000 per year, with the snack and bakery categories leading the way.

“With almost 8 million Australians actively seeking gluten free foods at least three times a day and with the lack of innovation in pastries, this represents a massive opportunity and one that Mrs Mac’s is seizing with our new range of delicious gluten free pies and rolls,” Mrs Mac’s said.

“The products have great visual appeal and can be heated quickly from thawed or frozen, so are perfectly suited to cafes; deli’s and restaurants; where previously gluten free may have been too challenging to cope with and therefore meant a menu shortfall for this growing demand.”
