Aldi to reach SA milestone with new store

Aldi will open its tenth store in South Australia store later this month in Blakeview, with six more expected to open across the state by the end of the year.

The new Aldi Blakeview will follow Aldi’s refreshed store format with redesigned shelving and expanded wooden produce bays, as well as energy efficient LED lighting and chillers. It will also have sleek signage and point of sale displays.

Viktor Jakupec, managing director, Aldi South Australia, said: “We have been listening to customer feedback on the eastern seaboard and believe these upgrades will make it even easier and more enjoyable for South Australians to shop with us.”

“While our customers can expect an enhanced shopping experience, the changes won’t impact our prices. Aldi is committed to being the price leader in the market and everything we do is designed with one goal in mind – helping our South Australian shoppers live richer lives for less.”

Aldi opened its first store in South Australia in February, and has recently opened new sites in Mount Barker, St Agnes, Modbury, Noarlunga and Kilburn. It is expected that by the end of 2016, Aldi will have up to 16 stores trading across South Australia, with a total of 50 stores planned for the state.

Other confirmed areas of interest including West Lakes, Hawthorn, Victor Harbor, Smithfield, Gilles Plains, Berri, Marion, Aldinga, Evanston, Nuriootpa, Golden Grove, Salisbury, Mount Gambier, Kensington Park, Port Pirie and Yorke Peninsula.

The launch of Blakeview follows the announcement by the supermarket chain that it will open its first four stores in Western Australia at Mirrabooka Square, Kwinana, Belmont and Lakeside Joondalup on June 8.

Aldi Blakeview will open on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. Located at the Corner Main Terrace and Village Terrace, Blakeview, the store will trade Monday to Friday 8.30am to 8pm, with extended trading hours until 9pm on Thursdays. Saturday hours will be 8am-5pm, while Sunday hours will be 11am-5pm.
