SA Food Awards recognises achievers old and new

After almost 100 years of ice cream production at its South Australian factory, Golden North has finally been inducted into the San Remo Hall of Fame at the South Australian Food Industry Awards. The presentation took place at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday, November 25.

After almost 100 years of ice cream production at its South Australian factory, Golden North has finally been inducted into the San Remo Hall of Fame at the South Australian Food Industry Awards. The presentation took place at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday, November 25.

Golden North also collected the hotly contested Tasting Australia Consumer Award, following consumer voting to establish South Australia’s favourite food brand for 2016.

Sunfresh Salads and Pangkarra Foods each won a Foodland SA New Product Award (with Sunfresh receiving the award for companies with more than 15 employees and Pangkarra for companies with 15 or fewer employees).

The Awards, now in its 18th year, are hosted by Food South Australia, with the support of the Government of South Australia and principal sponsor San Remo and major sponsors including Tasting Australia, Foodland and Bickford’s Group.

Other companies to receive awards included AgriExchange, MOO Premium Foods, Natural Fractions, Spring Gully Foods, Fleurieu Milk Company, Wakefield Grange, Almondco Australia, Bultarra Australian Saltbush Lamb, B.-d. Farm Paris Creek, 2XE and Galipo Foods.
