Three reasons not to miss the C&I Expo

C&I is excited to welcome retailers from across all banners and brands to the C&I Expo; and there’s still time to register to ensure you don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity!

As C&I Retailing magazine prepares to present a world-class learning and networking experience we present you with three reasons why you should make the show a priority this August.

Reason one

C&I commercial director Safa de Valois said the Expo is the one place where you’ll find everything you need to succeed in your retail store.

“Everything from POS to new products, products that have never been thought of in the industry and companies that are developing new products and new brands who will be there for the first time,” he said.

“We have 95 exhibitors and we probably have another 15 to come; we’re looking at 120 in total and attendees numbers from anywhere between 1200 and 2000.”

The exhibitors at the show are there not only to have a presence, but also to communicate with retailers and show that they are there to support them.

“It is a place to network with the suppliers and the retailers,” Mr de Valois said.

Reason two

Mr de Valois said the show would be heavily focused on new product developments (NPD).

“New companies with new innovative products for non-existing categories in our industry will be there to sell and to do promotions,” he said.

“The brands and companies attending will be to promote themselves and their offering to the market. This is a chance to connect with retailers and to get them interested in what they are selling.”

Reason three

The C&I Expo last year saw the success of partnering with the Australasian Association of Convenience Stores (AACS) Summit and it is expected that this year will bring a similar if not better turn-out of exhibitors and retailers.

Mr de Valois said the excitement of the two events coming together has not changed for him.

“Since the time that AACS and C&I have united as one force in the industry with two events coming together, I haven’t stopped being excited about it,” he said.

“AACS is part of the industry and so is C&I; both our products, the magazine and the show, are the voices of the industry,” he said.

To enable each attendee to get the most from the Expo, C&I recommends having a plan on how to walk around the show.

Mr de Valois said research has showed that 75% of people turn left when they walk in, and they start browsing the stands on their left, and not on their right.

“We’ve designed the show so that attendees can just zigzag up and down and across very easily, so that’s how we designed it, to make sure it flows easily,” he said.

“[I suggest] having a plan, what you want to achieve out of the show, are you here to look for new products are you there for deals? Have a plan.”
