MIB Facilities has completed construction on the new Caltex Lismore site.
A press release from MIB said the site had been closed following the flood damage caused by Cyclone Debbie in 2017.
“The old site was completely gutted and rebuilt. The project was extremely challenging due to the extensive damage caused by the Cyclone, local soil conditions, underground water and near record heavy rain encountered in October 2018, contributed to the difficulties faced throughout the project,” MIB said.
“The severity of damage caused by Cyclone Debbie meant the site required a complete rebuild. MIB’s team of engineers and qualified tradesmen worked on the project tirelessly to complete the rebuild and deliver a brand new, Caltex site. Works to the site included, demolition of site buildings, removal and demolition of old fuel storage tanks, shoring of excavations, dewatering of site, installing new fuel storage tanks, removal and replacing the site subgrade and damaged underground services, replacing the entire concrete forecourt, refurbing the existing shop building internally and externally and to both levels. All works were completed in under 5 months.”
“With the works now complete, Caltex now has a service station/shop which offers so much more for its customers. Caltex customers can now enjoy a new bigger shop experience offering; Fuel, Hot and Cold food, coffee and a large variety of in-house grocery items. Caltex Lismore is the newest site to be opened in the vast Caltex network across Australia. The site has had a change of Management and will operate as a Caltex owned Starmart site.”
