Blue Dinosaur releases new flavours

The term ‘morning runs’ has taken on a whole new meaning for gym-goers and exercise enthusiasts thanks to the rise of protein bars and shakes.

To put an official end to the post protein poop and the constant rushes to the bathroom, home-made Aussie healthy snack food heroes, Blue Dinosaur, has come to the rescue.

Blue Dinosaur lives by the philosophy that snack foods can be both nourishing and convenient, so all its bars and bites are expertly crafted by a local team of professional and passionate health food enthusiasts who work hard to ensure all products are made from the best wholefood ingredients, and nothing artificial.

Boasting a whopping 25g of clean protein in each bar, Blue Dinosaur is adding two new flavours to their already successful range of protein bars – Salted Caramel and Cookie Dough. Each bar contains only seven healthy wholefood ingredients each and zero nasties. This means that they are not only good for your overall health, but also gentler on your gut!

There’s no secret behind the science – not only do we need to get enough protein in, but ideally this should be delivered at regular intervals across the day. Experts recommend consuming a minimum of 20g protein at each meal throughout the day to ensure effective recovery and promote training adaptations.

Hint: if it’s giving you the shits (literally and figuratively) it’s probably not good for you.

Siobhan Crawshay, Advanced Sports Dietitian and Lead Sports Dietitian for the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia and Paralympics Australia, states that anyone leading a healthy lifestyle, from the everyday enthusiast to the professional athlete, will benefit from being able to access high quality protein in such a convenient form.

Crawshay says, “The Blue Dinosaur protein bars are unique in that they provide a High Biological Value protein (from egg whites), in a non-perishable, tasty and convenient form. This makes them a very handy mid-meal or post-training snack, especially for those on the go. Many other non-perishable snack options do not contain the quality of protein found in these bars. Snacks can make up a considerable proportion of a person’s diet, so it is important that we are thinking about what we are eating at these times.”

“Blue Dinosaur bars are made of wholefood ingredients, rather than having protein powders added. This, along with their great taste, makes them a stand-out. With flavours such as Salted Caramel and Cookie Dough, I think some of my athletes may even want to eat them as dessert.”

The Salted Caramel and Cookie Dough flavours will join its older siblings – Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Coffee –  in the delicious range of Blue Dinosaur protein bars. Consumers looking for a protein blast will be able to purchase the bars online and in select retailers across Australia.
