SPC acquires PomLife

SPC has another fruit brand under their belt, after acquiring superfood brand PomLife, founded in 2008 by the Australian Pomegranate Growers (APG).

SPC will assume ownership of PomLife’s Goulburn Valley based manufacturing processing plant and further expand its operations, with plans to integrate their operations into SPC’s Shepparton plant.

APG will continue to own and operate their pomegranate orchards and supply seasonal fruit to SPC on an ongoing basis.

In a statement on the sale, SPC said they expect to see pomegranate products become more mainstream, adding they anticipate it will become the new superfood as the avocado was in the late 1960s-early 1970s.

SPC CEO Robert Giles said they will expand their fruit portfolio to include a range of new pomegranate based products.

““As we continue to grow SPC into a global leader in the food and beverage market, we have been investing in expanding our range within our fruit basket. Bringing PomLife, a neighbourhood business from Ardmona, into the SPC family, was a natural addition,” Mr Giles said.
