Mint Payments appoints Huy Truong as Executive Chairman

Mint Payments has appointed investor and business builder Huy Truong as its new Executive Chairman, following the retirement of Bill Bartee from the company’s Board of Directors.

Truong brings experience in private equity, financial services, technology, and social impact ventures. He has held leadership roles at Wishlist.com.au, Jurlique, ALI Group, and Australia Glass Group, and has investment experience with Yarra Capital Partners and CHAMP Ventures. He is currently Chair/Director of Infrastructure Matters (UK), Heart Financial, and Global Relief Supplies.

Truong said he is excited to join Mint at this time, as the company has a strong foundation and significant growth potential.

“I look forward to working with the team to execute our strategic vision, enhance profitability, and expand internationally.”

Truong has also been involved in social initiatives; co-founding Thrive Refugee Enterprise and chairing Save The Children’s Investment Committee.

He participated in Mint Payments’ recent capital raise in December and worked with CEO Alex Teoh on strategy, capital requirements, and resource planning.

Teoh welcomed the appointment, saying that they are thrilled to welcome Huy Truong as their new Executive Chairman.

“Huy’s proven leadership, entrepreneurial and growth expertise will be invaluable in driving the company forward. At the same time, we express our sincere gratitude to Bill Bartee for his contributions and strategic guidance during his tenure.”

Bartee has been a member of the Mint Board since 2014, providing governance oversight and strategic insights. The company acknowledged his role in Mint’s growth and development as a payments platform.
