Reddy Express customers charged multiple times in EFTPOS error

Some Reddy Express customers were charged multiple times during purchases on 31 May, due to a technical fault with the store’s EFTPOS system.

The issue caused intermittent errors for some guests paying by credit or debit card, and the company said they are currently working to reverse any duplicate errors as quickly as possible.

“In most cases, people should have seen the refund appear in their debit or credit card accounts by now,” the company said in a statement.

One customer who was affected by the glitch was Sydneysider Steve, who called in to 2GB to say that his $106 Reddy Express fuel bill had been charged 134 times, resulting in roughly $14,000 in payments exiting his account.

Reddy Express is urging anyone who hasn’t received a refund or who hasn’t yet made contact to reach out via email at contactus-retail@vivaenergy.com.au or call 1800 656 055.
