Woolworths cuts prices on hundreds of everyday items

Woolworths has announced a price drop on nearly 400 everyday products in an effort to provide more value for customers shopping in-store and online.

The average price reduction is around 10 per cent, with the supermarket estimating families who spend $150 a week could save about $15 by purchasing items under the new ‘Lower Shelf Price’ program. The lowered prices will remain in place at least until 2026.

The affected items include a number of Woolworths home-brand products as well as products from Coca-Cola, Patties, and Maggi.

Amanda Bardwell, CEO of Woolworths, said the move is a response to cost-of-living pressures faced by customers.

“We know that managing household budgets continues to be challenging for our customers.

“Customers consistently tell us they need more value from their shop, and that they expect us to do more to help.

“Today marks the start of a real, tangible change customers will see on the shelf prices of hundreds of products when they shop with us, both in-store and online. And it’s just the beginning.”

Bardwell emphasised the long-term nature of the price cuts.

“This isn’t just a short-term promotion; it’s about lower shelf prices on the products we know customers regularly shop for, and providing genuine, lasting and dependable value they can count on.”

Lower Shelf Price products will still be included in Woolworths’ regular specials program. The company plans to expand the list in the coming months.
