Chang’s releases Chinese Master Stock

Chang's Chinese Master Stock 500mL_opt (2)Australian family-owned Asian food brand, Chang’s, has launched its first new product for 2016 – Chang’s Chinese Master Stock, which will be stocked nationally by Woolworths supermarkets.

Elaine Pow, Chang’s general manager, said: “As Australians become more comfortable cooking and experimenting with Asian flavours, we need to ensure we’re offering the right ingredients.

“The idea of developing a Chinese Master Stock was born from wanting to bring one of the most important, yet complex and time consuming Chinese flavours to the kitchens of homes across Australia,” said Ms Pow.

Chang’s says the vegetable-based broth is ideal for hearty winter soups, stir-frys and braised dishes, and with all the hard work of making the stock taken care of, cooking a delicious Chinese-inspired meal is easy – just add your preferred protein, plus a handful of any of your favourite Chang’s noodles – Egg, Long Life, Rice Vermicelli.

“Until now, Master Stock has traditionally been prepared from scratch and in China is stored and reused over many years, developing a depth of flavour like no other. It’s the secret weapon of Chinese cooking, used to braise, poach and marinate vegetables or protein.

“Some stocks are said to be more than 100 years old and are savoured for many years, offered as celebrated wedding presents or sold for thousands of dollars.

“This is our first new product for the year, and we’re not short of ideas,” said Pow.

Chang’s Chinese Master Stock (500mL) is $4.99 RRP and is available in Woolworths stores nationally and online from June 2016.

  1. Reading Woolworth’s August magazine there was an advertisement for the product and had it was available in store now.

I have since August checked at least a dozen times at numerous Woolworth’s stores from Woy Woy to Hornsby to no avail.

Chang’s you owe me at least 2 packs to cover my wasted time hunting the product down.
