ALDI reveals opening dates for new stores

Aldi Australia this week has given an update on its ongoing plans for expansion of the store network, providing a list of eagerly anticipated openings [opening dates updated below] in locations across the Eastern seaboard, South Australia and Western Australia.

The German retailer said that it will be expanding on its current network of 473 stores across the country and that it is “eager to bring the ALDI difference to more Australians”.

“In addition to ALDI stores already opened this year, we can confirm plans to open in the following locations across the Eastern seaboard, South Australia and Western Australia,” a spokesperson for Aldi Australia said.

“In New South Wales, new stores will open in Hillsdale, Wetherill Park, Macarthur Square, Narellan, Riverwood and Maitland. In Queensland, new locations include Drewvale, Caboolture and Coorparoo. The next stores to open in Victoria are Campbellfield, Bell Park, Tarneit Central, Gladstone Park, Springvale and The Glen.

“In South Australia, there are plans to open in Kensington Park, Adelaide Airport, Aldinga, Victor Harbor, Ingle Farm and Nuriootpa. New store locations in Western Australia include Spearwood, South Fremantle, Bunbury, Banksia Grove, Busselton, Northam, Yokine and Currambine.”

The spokesperson also said that all of the new stores will be built to the new format the retailer is using in Australia, which is aimed at creating a better shopping experience.

“Each of these stores will follow our new format, with clearer signage, redesigned shelving and expanded wooden produce bays, energy efficient LED lighting and extended chillers. This will allow for a more pleasant and efficient shopping experience, while also catering for an expanded range across our fresh meat, produce and health categories.

“While the new format means a better shopping experience for customers, it won’t lead to higher prices. We look forward to helping even more shoppers discover the benefits ALDI can bring to their wallets and their lifestyles.”

    SUPERMARKETS.WHERE IS ALDI?. THANK YOU.

  3. When will Alid come to Nth Qld Townsville is a good place, it’s 4 hrs from Mackay and Cairns. It also sevices Charters Towers.

We live in Mackay but would travel to 4 hrs to shop at Aldi.

  4. When will Aldi come to Cabramatta/Lansvale/Warwick Farm or Chipping Norton. We only have a Woolworths Store in Cabramatta.

  5. Will Aldi come to Sefton Park SA. Nice big vacant store at Regency Plaza (ex Woolworths store) just waiting for Aldi to come.

  6. COME TO NORTH QLD PLEASE! WE ARE GETTING RIPPED OFF UP HERE. USE THE OLD MASTERS BUILDINGS WHICH ARE JUST SITTING VACANT

  7. I seen an Aldi advert on tv last night!
I live in Hobart, just wanting to know where the store might be opening and if you can give more info!

  8. When will Aldi come to Narooma Nsw?
There is only a Woolworths in Narooma and they need some competition, they are so expensive. They are ripping us off here. The small IGA store advertise products on sale in their catalogue that they don’t stock.
I would shop at Aldi if there was one in Narooma.

  9. When will Aldi come to Mackay, it is set to boom here again and we want Aldi please please build one here, anywhere around here.

  10. Well done Aldi Currambine is sure your flagship I will have to take a sick just to be the first in the door on the opening day
    Cannot wait

  11. when are you opening a store in port Pirie or Augusta in SA we only have coles and WW they need a shake up and aldi can do that instead of us having to travel 300kms to the nearest store

  12. I like to know why your Aldi store busselton Western Australia is one 1/3 the size of any of your stores . We all been waiting with great excitement for our store here . The store is only 1/3 the of perth store. Prices no better that coles or woolies and home applicants choice the very little choice be one or 2 lines. Why do you think we don’t notice this . I thought your company offered big discounts but not in busselton Western Australia . We not stupid just because we live in the country .target has also gone this road and most of my friends avoid buying there of no choice and most time they don’t have what you need so do this to country clients is really bad choice

  13. as have asked before we are a seaboard town very large we have a lot of fresh food producers around who have to send most of what they grow to brisbane market before it comes all the way back up here.to be sold back to us at much inflated prices.we are bigger by far than kingaroy and that shop boomed.as it would here.our town is 2 hundred thousand plus and very secure and growing at a fast rate .we have a lot of tourists and we would all benefit from competition your stores offers

  14. Hi, its been a sign saying that aldi is opening soon in Wetherill park nsw but its been ages and haven’t opened yet! Anyone know when they say opening soon how long does it take its i think about a year or more still is this sign ????

  15. The people of Castlemaine are desperate for an Aldi. We are a large town in Central Victoria with only two IGAs. Whenever it is discussed on our local FB site, there is overwhelming support. We need competition!

  16. FNQ need aldi. Im in Tolga on the Atherton Tablelands and we have 45,000 residnets up here and aldi would be a massive hit. Especially in Mareeba. My only option is woolies or IGA and both are so expensive at the best of times. Coles are in Mareeba but cant justify travelling there as i spwnd the same at woolies. But if Aldi was in Mareeba i would travel. Alsi was my go too in SA and SEQ.. please bribg Aldi to FNQ

  17. What about A Aldi in Hillside victoria? We have a no good foodworks and nothing else within kooowee. Certainly not within 5 km

  18. We need an Aldi at Alexander Heights shopping centre, its on the borders of Alexander Heights and Marangaroo and there is already a Coles and Woolworths there.. Please let us know what you think.

  19. I know Aldi has been approved for Gisborne. Victoria. I would like to know when works are going to begin. An anxious customer.

Tasmania is being left out. When is ALDI coming go the island of TASMANIA. We need you desperately. What stops Aldi from coming here

  22. Come on ALDI, make a difference….open stores in Tasmania – Hobart & Launceston. It’s a supermarket duopoly here with some of the highest prices in Australia and no competition or choice. Don’t miss the opportunity with all the tourism & growth happening in the state now !

  23. Hi. Can you tell me if a new aldi is opening at North Lakes Qld…

  26. Looks like there goes all the jobs at your local IGA & Foodland!! Another giant overseas company killing the little stores!

  27. Please please and pretty please in the intrest of free trade make plans to open stores in tasmania. We need more choice, variety and free enterprise so come on Aldi embark on expansion and go to tasmania

  28. hi there
when is aldi opening date in thornlie
looked on your website dont find any news regarding
    resident of thornlie
thanks for giving coles and woollies a run as they are very over priced

  29. Cairns – Townsville – Mackay -Whitsundays – Rockhampton – Charters Towers Are in desperate need of an ALDI store. These areas are growing at huge rates with mining, tourism, farming ever expanding. Give the North Queensland residents and tourists some real choice and competition please. It is way overdue. ALDI management should prioritise regional centres

  30. I don’t know why there is not an Aldi in Tasmania!! We just need one to start with and you

will see how popular it will become, and then 2 more in the populated areas. How about

Launceston, Hobart & Burnie?? Please Please Please……….

Hi aldi,, I know alot of people want an aldi and there are already a few on the central coast of NSW but I really want one in Morisset its the perfect spot to put one theres alot of development going on and many new houses, alot of people to buy your goods,, hope you put one in theres a few nice places that you could easily do that ok good luck Aldi!!!!!

  33. Seems to be a lot of comments here but no responses from Aldi, who knows if they even read them. But for what it’s worth, I think it is time for us to have an Aldi in Tasmania, preferably one in Launceston and one in Hobart, but I would travel if there was only one and I know a lot of other people would too.

  34. I have read your excellent post. This is a great job. I have enjoyed reading your post first time. I want to say thanks for this post. Thank you.

  35. I agree with other commenters , Bring Aldi to Tasmania, I understand that the shipping cost’s would be higher but I do believe that the sales Aldi would make in Tasmania would honestly far out weigh the shipping cost to bring things here . Even if one store was only opened in Hobart I would travel monthly from Launceston to shop at Aldi as it still would save me money.

  36. time has come for aldi to come north to townsville charters towers and the new mini city to be built at greenvale is there political interferance or are they being paid buy other retailers to stay away we can supply ex shopping center building
think of the customers first len sinclair
    greenvale 4816 qld phone 0487350152

  37. When is ALDI coming to Morisset NSW ?
Land and Leasing opening up and hoping ALDI will take opportunity to open in Morisset with a new housing development and growing community will need more shops …
ALDI would be Soo convenient since to travel Toronto and Bluehaven 25 min Lakehaven 30min ?
