AACS announces new partnerships and training programs

The Australian Association of Convenience Stores (AACS) has partnered with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and Hexis Quadrant to provide members with innovative training programs.

This collaboration marks a significant step forward in enhancing the capabilities and skills of the convenience channel throughout the country.

In today’s dynamic convenience landscape, staying ahead requires a combination of strategic vision and operational excellence. Recognising this need, AACS has joined forces with AICD, the largest director membership organisation in the world, to offer the Company Directors Course and Foundations of Directorship.

Hexis Quadrant, a boutique consulting and training firm, brings its expertise to the partnership, offering Retail Immersion, an immersive and practical learning experience where participants learn, through first-hand experience, how to manage a retail business in a simulated, real-time marketplace.

Theo Foukkare, CEO of AACS, said as the convenience industry continues to evolve, ongoing education and professional development are paramount.

“Through this partnership, AACS reaffirms its commitment to supporting its members. By providing access to world-class training resources and networking opportunities, the association aims to foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the convenience store industry.”

The Foundations of Directorship course is designed to set down the fundamentals of directorship that help to develop a confident, cohesive board capable of boosting its productivity.

The in-house Company Directors Course is designed to improve your board’s performance in three important ways – Strengthening your board’s governance capability, fostering your governing team’s cohesive growth, and boosting your board’s sector-specific expertise.

The Retail Immersion program is a two-day learning simulation where participants compete in teams to become the most successful retailer in the virtual marketplace. Over a series of modules, Retail Immersion delivers a unique blend of theory and skills needed to run a successful convenience retail business.
