Ampol Foundation raises $1 million for community partners

Ampol Foundation has announced it has raised over $1 million through its retail network for community partners throughout 2022.

The milestone comes on the back of a successful fundraising campaign with Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA), in which $400,000 was raised throughout November and early December.

Kate Thomson, Executive General Manager, Retail Australia, Ampol, said by leveraging their retail network and generosity of their customers, they are proud to make a significant contribution to their charity partners.

“Funds raised this year have supported increased access to vital mental health programs in schools, along with study and learning support for disadvantaged students across the country.

“Our November campaign with SLSA promoted water safety, and this $400,000 donation comes at a time where our beaches are at their busiest.”

Adam Weir, CEO of SLSA, said the funds would help support volunteer surf lifesavers’ efforts on beaches and within communities.

“Support from partners like Ampol and kind donations from the community help us provide vital training to our volunteer surf lifesavers, repair and replace rescue gear and equipment, and deliver important water safety education to the community, so together we can save lives.”

Earlier this year, Ampol Foundation raised over $370,000 for The Smith Family’s Learning Clubs program, and in April, raised nearly $250,000 for the Sebastian Foundation to help support the mental health of over 8000 young Australians through their Open Parachute initiative.
