Ampol to raise funds for Surf Lifesaving Australia

Ampol will donate 10 cents from every Ice Break, Twin Pole, Life Savers Ice Block, Life Savers Sugar Bag and M&M Chocolate Bag sale between 2 November to 6 December to Surf Lifesaving Australia (SLSA), as well as $1 from all Aerial sunglasses sales.

Kate Thomson, Ampol Executive General Manager, Retail Australia said Ampol is proud to raise funds for SLSA as part of its broader commitment to organisations and initiatives that promote community safety and wellbeing.

“We are proud to again raise funds for our national community partner, Surf Life Saving Australia to help promote their important work across the country,” Thomson said.

“The importance of SLSA in keeping Australians safe on beaches cannot be understated, particularly as we head into the busy summer months.

“Ampol’s key values around making a difference and never stop caring speak directly to the efforts our surf lifesavers make every day on Australian beaches and is why we uphold a constant presence at all fundamental SLSA events.”

All money raised will go directly to SLSA to fund vital upgrades and equipment replacement, volunteer surf lifesaving training and public water safety education.

Adam Weir, SLSA CEO, said he was grateful for the support from Ampol. “Funds raised by Ampol last year enabled us to purchase much-needed equipment to save lives on Australian beaches and throughout communities,” he said.

“Our rescue gear and equipment are constantly exposed to harsh coastal conditions, so funds raised by Ampol this year will once again help us to maintain this vital equipment.

“As we head into summer not only are we conscious of how busy beaches are going to be with both local and international tourism in full swing, we have also seen volunteer surf lifesavers deployed to support flood rescue and relief efforts throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.

“Volunteer surf lifesavers already stand ready to support the community and other emergency services with the ultimate goal of keeping people safe and saving lives,” said Weir.
