Bickford’s brews a flavour boost for baristas at home

Australians seeking to recreate their favourite barista-style coffee at home now have a helping hand with the launch of three new Bickford’s Flavoured Syrups.

Bickford’s Flavoured Syrups are the latest addition to the brand’s existing supermarket beverage range, which includes cordials, juices, carbonated drinks and milkshake mixes. The Bickford’s Flavoured Syrups range includes Salted Caramel, Roasted Hazelnut and Dark Chocolate but is expected to grow.

With coffee-lovers increasingly choosing speciality syrups at cafes, Bickford’s believe there is a strong market for syrups in the home. Roy Morgan Research conducted last year found more than one in three homes now have a coffee making machine and 38 per cent of Australians regularly purchase fresh coffee to brew at home.

Bickford’s marketing manager Chris Illman said there was a strong appetite for its new Salted Caramel, Roasted Hazelnut and Dark Chocolate syrups.

“Our premium syrups will help coffee-drinkers to re-create an indulgent, barista-made coffee in their own home.

“But these syrups are much more than just flavours for coffee. People can add milk to create the ultimate adult milkshake or drizzle over ice cream for a luxurious dessert,” Illman said.

Illman added the new range presents a welcome opportunity for retailers nationally.

“Flavoured syrups are expected to deliver incremental cross-category sales to regular white milk and instant coffee purchases – both of which are growing.”

The new range of syrups will be sold at Coles, IGA, Foodland and other supermarkets, cafes and restaurants around the country.
