Carman’s enters new category

Australian gourmet food company, Carman’s, has launched a dedicated convenience and impulse range, as the health and nutritional snacks category continues to grow in Australia.

Carman’s impulse range consists of eight products including Dark Choc Cranberry Protein Bars, 40g; Greek Style Yoghurt and Berry Protein Bar, 40g; Classic Fruit and Nut Muesli Bar, 55g; Dark Choc Cranberry & Almond Muesli Bar, 45g; Cranberry & Blueberry Oat Slice, 70g; Golden Oat and Coconut Oat, 70g; Almond, Cashew, Cranberry Roasted Nut Bar, 45g; and Greek Style Yoghur & Berry Roasted Nut Bar, 45g.

“The Carmans impulse range brings to the C&I channel the same delicious Carman’s products we are renowned for in supermarket,”Carman’s national sales manager, Andrew Bond, told C&I.

According to IbisWorld, industry revenue in the Australian snacks market is expected to increase by an annualised 1.3 per cent to total $2.4 billion over the five years through 2014-15. In 2014-15, revenue is expected to increase by 1.6 per cent.

“The health and nutritional snacks category has been experiencing strong growth over the past few years in supermarkets, and we are now seeing this trend coming through strongly in the C&I channel,” Bond said.

Carman’s impulse range of bars and slices are significantly larger than its retail bars, and are available nationally. Each product comes in its own counter display tray holding 12 single units.
