Coca-Cola Australia Foundation supporting over 100 charities

Coca-Cola Australia and Coca-Cola Amatil are achieving to support grassroots Australian charities through their Employee Connected Grants program, via the Coca-Cola Australia Foundation.

The Employee Connected Grants enable employees at Coca-Cola Australia and Coca-Cola Amatil to celebrate the charities that they have a personal connection to and that have a meaningful impact on their local communities.

Since the Employee Connected Grants program began in 2016, the Coca-Cola Australia Foundation has supported over 100 charitable initiatives that help create a brighter, more sustainable future for Australians today and for generations to come. The 2019 grants are supporting a wide variety of initiatives with much-needed financial support; from art therapy and funding for at-risk adolescents, to support for LGBTIQ youth and young people living with mental illness.

Malcolm Hudson, Chair of the Coca-Cola Australia Foundation, said: “Not only does the Foundation’s work empower our employees to deepen their involvement in the community, it allows us to support initiatives that help build a more sustainable future for Australia.”

The 2019 grants have supported a wide range of initiatives this year, such as:

  • Lord Somers Camp Victoria: A program that brings children from all walks of life together to promote diversity and break down social barriers
  • First Hand Solutions: An organisation that provides Indigenous youth with valuable knowledge to develop their cultural identity and preserve the Indigenous culture, language and environment
  • Mito Foundation: A foundation that supports young people diagnosed with Mitochondrial disease and gives them the tools to manage their own treatment empowering them to cope with the physical, social and psychological challenges of mito
  • Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation: Giving young Indigenous people in Cairns the opportunity to participate in a cycling program, 2 Deadly Treadlys, that helps build friendships and fosters social inclusion
  • Burdekin Association: To support the Fit For Life program that offers physical and emotional support to young people who have been exposed to trauma. The camp removed these young people from their traumatic environment to help improve their mental and physical wellbeing
