Contactless convenience store proposed in Parramatta

A convenience store, consisting solely of vending machines, could soon be opening at 1 Broughton Street, Parramatta.

The proposed shop, Time To Vend, will provide a contactless shopping experience, giving customers access to vending machines that dispense a wide range of products, including pharmacy stock, electrical items, food and drink, cosmetics, pet food, train and bus tickets, and laundry services.

The Statement of Environmental Effects (SEE) submitted to Paramatta Council states that the shop aims to provide an innovative contactless shopping experience for residents with fast and easy access to daily necessities and convenience items and services, with opening hours of 7am-10pm.

“The purpose of this proposal is to present the idea of opening a neighbourhood shop with vending and self-service machines that provide general merchandise, personal care products, and services to cater to the day to day needs of the locality,” said the document.

The application was submitted by Couzi Construction, which has worked on a variety of commercial spaces, including a Shell service station in Long Jetty.
