From July 1st, 2018, all food packaged and imported will be required to comply with the Country of Origin Food Labelling Information Standard brought into line in 2016.

The two-year transition phase brought in, in 2016 will end on the 30th of June.

The system requires each food product to state where the food was produced, made and packaged while Australia food will carry the kangaroo symbol.

  1. Does “Grown in Australia” mean China can buy Australian fruit concentrate, take back to China and reconstitute using their water, their bottles, their label and then re-sold here in Australia using the “Grown in Australia” country of Origin Mark?
