Mondelēz International has announced a partnership with food rescue organisation SecondBite to supply its surplus snack products to SecondBite facilities.
Ahead of Easter, Mondelēz has already supplied SecondBite with over 50,000 servings of Cadbury Dairy Milk Easter eggs, which it has then distributed to food relief agencies across Victoria.
Lucy Coward, Acting CEO of SecondBite, said the partnership will make a huge difference to the lives of thousands of Australians.
“Our partnership with Mondelēz will not only provide us with much needed funds to continue our work rescuing and redistributing quality food, but this bulk donation of chocolate ahead of Easter will put a much-needed smile on so many faces. It will be a lovely treat to add to our usual supply of fresh food and pantry staples.”
Across FY22, SecondBite delivered over 24 million kgs of food, providing 48 million meals to Australians in need via its 1100 charity partners.
Stephanie Saliba, Corporate and Government Affairs Director for Mondelēz International, said they are incredibly proud to be partnering with SecondBite.
“Further to supporting their efforts to eliminate food waste and feed hungry families, we’re delighted to play our part surprising and delighting families, with our range of iconic and much-loved snacks.”
