New appointment at UCB

Scott Herbert, now working with UCB.

After nine years with Lucky 7/Metcash, Scott Herbert has moved over to United Convenience Buyers, where he fills a variety of roles including merchandise manager and business development.

Mr Herbert first started in the FMCG industry in 1998 with Coffs Cordials and Confectionery, a Schweppes distributor based in Coffs Harbour.

He continued his career working with brands such as Nestle, Smiths and Goodman Fielder, and later became involved with the Lucky 7 Convenience buying brand.

He said Metcash had undergone a number of changes and a major restructure, including a shift away from the Lucky 7 brand investment.

“I shifted to UCB because I’m very passionate about independent retailers; they’re a great group of people and a very family orientated business with a vision and plan for our market,” he said.

“It’s about supporting the independents, to keep them alive against the chain stores.”

Mr Herbert said that UCB had a strong member base with over 1000 members in the group.

UCB supports independent retailers Australia wide to give them strong buying power and promotional programs.
