Pepsi Max has a new flavour in the drinks aisle, just in time for the warmer weather.

It’s no secret Australians love their mangoes. Research commissioned by PepsiCo ahead of the launch found it’s the fruit of choice for 46% of us, while 60% of those surveyed nominated it as the taste of summer.

The new release has the added benefit of being far easier to consume, without the need to slice, dice or peel the pesky fruit. As Pepsi found, while most of us can agree mangoes are delicious, it’s a different story when it comes to how they should be eaten, with 64% of us admitting to arguing with family members about how best to eat them. We also have some strange mango habits, with the survey finding a perplexing handful of people eat the fruit in the shower or bath, 7% of people eat it with a knife or fork and 21% of us haven’t yet worked out how to eat it.

PepsiCo ANZ Marketing Manager Carolyn Baveystock said the new flavour offered a new way to enjoy the taste of mango.

“We know Aussies go mad for mango so what better way to launch our new flavour than to put the debate to rest once and for all. Pepsi Max Mango brings together the bold, refreshing taste of Pepsi Max with the delicious taste of juicy mango to make summer that little bit sweeter and give Aussies another way to enjoy the taste of their favourite fruit,” Mr Baveystock said.

The release follows the success of Pepsi Max Creaming Soda, Vanilla and Raspberry flavours. It’s available now in stores nationally and comes in 600ml and 1.25L bottles and 37ml and 440ml cans.
