Taj Team Up With Universal Studios

Although Taj Foods is primarily known for its rice, they have steadily diversified their product line with ethnic frozen vegetables, frozen herbs & snacks, fresh yoghurt and fresh paneer (Indian style cottage cheese). Today, they are strengthening their brand alliances with an exciting new partnership with NBCUniversal.

In July, Taj Foods Australia unveiled their new Despicable Me 3 range of Minion Made Fruit Flavoured Mini Jelly Cups, Drinks & Jello Pops.

Despicable Me 3 is an American 3D computer-animated comedy film produced by Illumination Entertainment for Universal Pictures. It is the third installment in the Despicable Me 3 film series, which has grossed $741.6 million worldwide since its release in June 2017 and has been No.1 in the Australian Box Office.

Taj Foods now explore the confectionary and beverages world as licensees to these Hollywood heavy hitters. This venture opens a completely new territory for the Australian owned house-hold basmati rice brand, established over 30 years ago by Mr Sid Varma.

Managing Director Gautam Varma elaborates, “We’re excited and looking forward to this collaboration with Universal Studios. In addition to The Despicable Me 3 lines, Taj Foods has also aligned with the Kung Fu Panda brand, for Asian rice & snacks. With the Home Entertainment release happening in September 2017 & Minions 2 in 2020, Taj Foods will roll out more licensed Despicable Me/Minions products at least till 2020, if not more”.

This new Taj Foods Australia range of licensed children’s confectionery & beverages will be available throughout Australia from 31st July.
