The Distributors are proud to announce their support of the Ride to Conquer Cancer® events being held across Australia this month. Rides are being held in Sydney on 11-12 October, Perth on 18-19 October and in Melbourne on 25-26 October 2014.
Each Ride is held over 2 days and 200 kilometres and is for anyone who wants to challenge themselves for a great cause. All participants need is motivation, a bike and a helmet. Lining the route every 25-30 kilometres, fully stocked Pit Stops offer snacks and hydration to keep participants going.
Every dollar raised through the Ride goes to world class cancer treatment and research facilities in each state, namely Chris O’Brien Lifehouse (Sydney), Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research (Perth), Peter MacCallum Medical Centre (Melbourne), to continue the vital research into cancer treatment and prevention.
“We are delighted to support The Ride to Conquer Cancer events with nourishment (snacks, confectionery, protein and energy bars…) and water, at Pit Stops along the 200km route, for all the incredibly determined participants and volunteers who will all help in raising funds for cancer research while conquering the two day ride,” said Alessandro Garofalo, General Manager of The Distributors.
“Many of our staff and customers nationally have been impacted in some way by a cancer diagnosis and with statistics revealing that one in two Australians expect to be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85, funding for cancer research is very important.”
“Our Warehouses, in particular The Distributors Brisbane, JB Metropolitan, Accredited Distributors and The Distributors Perth, as well as our Suppliers such as JC’s Quality Foods and Carman’s, are all helping make a difference in this quest to conquer cancer.”
The Distributors are no strangers to giving back and their community approach remains at the forefront of their company core values and philosophy; from Oxfam to MS, from raising awareness about Young Care to the more recent introduction of charitable donations to their rewards program, The Distributors Advantage.
“The Ride to Conquer Cancer is aimed at bringing together the community and with Cyclists required to raise a minimum of $2,500 in donations, it truly is a fantastic community effort.”
Beginning in 1981 with five local wholesalers, The Distributors have grown to become the Australian leading privately-owned Independent Wholesaler Group operating 37 warehouses around Australia.
