VDMS offers advice following retail crime campaign

Following the Shopping Centre Council of Australia’s (SCCA) recent $6 million campaign, Vend Data Media Solutions (VDMS) offers advice to retailers.

The successful campaign, which ran over the Christmas 2023 period, appeared over 100 million times across 3,200 digital advertising screens with more than 200 million customers viewing the six campaign messages.

Angus Nardi, Chief Executive of the SCCA, said the central purpose of the campaign is retail worker safety, and he looks forward to continued engagement with the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees’ Association’s (SDA) and National Retail Association (NRA) on this important issue.

“While most people do the right thing, unfortunately retail crime continues to be a major challenge including with reoffending, brazen theft, violence and use of weapons.”

Russell Davies, General Manager of Australia and New Zealand at VDMS, said in the convenience world, protecting high-value products from theft and shrinkage is a constant battle.

“VDMS offers a cutting-edge solution that not only secures your stock but also elevates your store’s retail experience with the latest in digital media advertising.

“Our vending machines are more than just dispensers; they are fortified security systems. Equipped with advanced locking mechanisms and secure storage, they ensure the safety of your tobacco products, even in the face of break-ins.”

Davies explained that tobacco is a key revenue driver in convenience stores, and with VDMS digital retail systems, retailers can harness the power of point of sale, drive customer loyalty, and increase revenue.

“What sets VDMS equipment apart is its ability to streamline operations, providing real-time sales information and reducing time spent on stock management. Our innovative vending units are designed to tackle display bans and plain packaging regulations, ensuring your store stays ahead of the curve.

“Our digital advertising displays not only secure your products but also attract attention and provide an additional revenue stream through supplier advertising.”
