The annual general meeting also provided an opportunity for the company to highlight some of the company’s achievements in the fields of diversity and safety.

Patties Foods MD and CEO, Steven Chaur, told shareholders the company is “committed to providing access to equal opportunities at work, based on merit, and fostering a corporate culture that embraces, and values, diversity”.

Looking to the future, a talent pipeline review has shown that women represent 40 per cent of the company’s high potential talent pool. While there are currently no vacancies on the Patties board, the meeting heard that, as vacancies arise, the board will seek to appoint a female director.

The impact of successful safety and injury management strategies was also highlighted as was an improvement in hazard and incident reporting noted following the implementation of regular Safety Walks across the business.
