Woolworths introduces QR code payments nationwide

Customers at Woolworths will now be able to pay and collect Everyday Rewards points with a single scan of a QR code at the start of transaction.

Everyday Pay was built by Wpay, the payments arm of Woolworths Group, and is one the first digital wallets to support QR code payments, and is available in all Woolworths Metro, Woolworths Supermarkets, and Big W’s nationwide.

Hannah Ross, Managing Director at Everyday, said by integrating QR code payments they are saving customers time at the checkout and ensuring they never miss reward points.

“We know speed, ease and contactless payment at the checkout is important to our customers as they lead increasingly busy lives. Everyday Pay from Everyday Rewards has been designed with this need top of mind.”

To use Everyday Pay, customers simply add their credit, debit, or gift card details along with their payment preferences in the app, with the app taking care of the rest once the customer scans the QR code available on the payment terminals at checkouts.

Everyday Rewards has over 13 million users across Australia, and the Everyday Rewards app is used by one million Australians each week.
