7-Eleven relaunches Slurpee, drops pricing

7-Eleven has relaunched its Slurpee pricing and refreshed its packaging and branding.

Launching nationally from today, the convenience chain has reduced its pricepoints across all four sizes, with a large now $1, down from $3 previously.

7-Eleven’s Slurpee range has also been given a fresh look, featuring artwork from a range of emerging Australian and international artists and illustrators.

New flavours as part of the rebrand include Shortcake, Caramel Apple Pie, Coconut Raspberry Slice and Slurpee Zilched Salted Caramel, which contains less than 1 per cent sugar and is Australia’s only low sugar frozen carbonated beverage.

7-Eleven marketing manager, Jessica Richmond, said: “Slurpee is a genuine Australian icon that has been enjoyed by generations.

“We’ve listened to what our customers want from Slurpee – a fun, pour-your-own experience, new flavours and great value. So we’re giving them a fresh new look in our stores and our cups, and an incredible line-up of flavours, including brand new Slurpee Zilched flavours – and all for only $1 for a large cup.

“We’re expecting a huge response from customers. ” Ms Richmond said.

According to the AACS State of the Industry report, the frozen carbonated beverages category currently accounts for 4.5% per cent of total ready-to-drink value.
