Cadbury creates flavours for Rio

Cadbury has launched two special edition flavours ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

The new flavours – Lamington and Apple Crumble – will be available from July and are part of the confectionery company’s sponsorship of the Australian Olympic Team.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Lamington will be available in Woolworths supermarkets, while Cadbury Dairy Milk Apple Crumble will available in Coles.

Lauren Fildes, head of strategic partnerships and events, Mondelez International, said: “We’re thrilled to support our Australian Olympic Team in 2016 and proud to celebrate our amazing athletes with the creation of some iconic Australian flavours!

“We’re excited to introduce our tasty new Australian Olympic Team edition blocks, Cadbury Dairy Milk Lamington and Cadbury Dairy Milk Apple Crumble to consumers and help get behind the team in the lead up to the big event.”

Mondelez was announced as the official chocolate, candy, biscuits and spreads partner of the Australian Olympic Team in August last year, forming part of its overarching ‘Bring on the Joy’ campaign.

Mondelez is also a major sponsor of the Australian Paralympics Team. Earlier this week Cadbury presented the Australian Paralympic Team with thousands of personal messages of support from fans across the nation ahead of the Paralympic Games.

As part of its support for the Australian Olympic Team, Cadbury has launched a competition which will send four Aussies (and their friends) off to Rio as Cadbury’s ‘Joy Ambassadors’.

“Our campaign aims to provide our Aussie athletes with a home ground advantage! With our team so far from home, we want to unite Aussies and Brazilians so our Olympians can look to the crowd dressed in green and gold and feel the immense support all the way from Australia. Along with the launch of our special Australian Olympic Team edition flavours, the stage is set for a big national celebration in the coming weeks and we’re delighted for Cadbury to be part of it,” Ms Fildes said.

For a chance to win the coveted prize and fly the flag for Australia in style, Australians are asked to submit a video or photo showing how they would convince Brazil to join forces with Australian fans and unite the green and gold supporters together.
