Caltex Australia have confirmed they have been approached by the UK Group EG Group.
Releasing a statement following media speculation of the approach, the company announced they have had approaches from multiple parties showing interest in acquiring Caltex or part thereof.
However they note they have not received any proposed to acquire the company since they rejected Canadian conglomerate Couche-Tard’s unsolicited $8.6 billion bid in November.
And add there is no certainty the interest shown will lead to a concrete bid.
