FMCG companies recognised for gender equality

The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) has recognised it’s 2018-19 list of companies promoting best practice in gender equality.

Companies recognised included Lion Dairy and Drinks, Allen’s, Metcash, PepsiCo, Caltex, Reckitt Benckiser, and Philip Morris International.

WGEA director Libby Lyons said: “More organisations are introducing strategies and policies to ensure women and men are equally valued and rewarded in their workplaces. Gender equality has become an important focus for Australian employers,” Miss Lyons said.

“Each year, I am delighted to see the innovative approaches taken by our citation holders in implementing actions and programmes that we know drives change. I congratulate all of our 2018-19 EOCGE citation holders for being such important agents for change. They are leading the way forward for other Australian employers to follow,” she added.

Philip Morris managing director said: “I am once again extremely proud to lead a team that continues to implement policies that ensure gender equality in the workplace”.

“Our vision of a smoke-free Australia – where smoke-free alternatives ultimately replace cigarettes – is no small task to achieve. It is essential that we foster a diverse workforce to drive this change in Australia,” Ms Chan said.

“We have increased our female representation across the organisation by 3% in comparison to 2017, which is an excellent achievement.”

‘I’m honoured to be receiving this award on behalf of the entire Philip Morris family for the fourth consecutive year.”
