M&M’S updates branding and characters to be more ‘inclusive’

M&M’S have refreshed their brand, including their mascots, as part of a global commitment to create a world where everyone feels they belong.

The updated brand will feature a more modern take on their iconic characters, including more nuanced personalities to “underscore the importance of self-expression and power of community through storytelling”.

Also included in the refresh is an added emphasis on the ampersand to more prominently display how the brand aims to bring people together, and an updated tone of voice that is more inclusive, welcoming, and unifying, while still maintaining the brands signature wit and humour.

Mars Incorporated, the makers of M&M’S, have introduced the M&M’s FUNd which will offer resources, mentorship, opportunities, and financial support in the arts and entertainment space.

This new global commitment by M&M’S forms just one part of Mars’ ambition to deliver on a world where society is inclusive. The company’s Full Potential Program is helping to advance gender equality in Mars’ workplaces, marketplaces, and in communities where it sources raw materials.
