Customers looking to spend cash online will be happy with a new type of gift card: Starting today 7-Eleven stores will offer gift cards redeemable at Kogan.com, a leading Australian online-only retailer.
Available just in time for Christmas, the Kogan.com gift cards (which are available in $50 or $100 denominations) can be purchased with cash, credit card, or debit card over the counter, making a convenient gift for those who like to shop online.
Kogan.com director of strategy Ross Metherell said retailers were responding to Australian shopping habits and their desire for convenience and value.
“For some people, convenience means picking up a few extra items while doing their regular shopping for groceries and fuel,” he said.
“For others, it means relaxing in the comfort of their own home and having goods delivered right to their door. Now, Australians can do both.
“The decision by some of Australia’s biggest and best bricks and mortar retailers to stock gift cards for online shopping is a significant milestone.
“The retail industry has moved on from a battle between online and physical stores, and is moving towards each retailer working hard to provide the best version of its own particular brand of convenience and value to Australian shoppers.
“Online shopping is still growing fast, and is showing no signs of slowing down in the coming years. We hope and expect that having Kogan.com gift cards in retail stores all around Australia will help more people discover the joy of shopping online.”
The gift cards are now available Australia-wide at over 2000 retail locations including Coles and Woolworths stores, and 7-Eleven outlets.
