Proper Crisps takes out top gong at the Naturally Good Awards

Proper Crisps has taken out Best Food Product at the 2023 Naturally Good Awards, held at Sydney’s ICC on 5 June.

Australia’s most innovative producers in the natural health space were celebrated at this year’s awards, with an impressive list of exhibitors nominated across 13 categories.

Sinead Kavanagh, Product Manager at Naturally Good, said the quality of entrants this year had exceeded expectations.

“The standard of products and brands is phenomenal considering the natural health space has become such a competitive space.

“The level of dedication and innovation has been so impressive that we included a number of new categories this year. Given it’s only the second year we have held the awards, we are anticipating even more categories and entrants next year.”

Winners included Proper Crisps for Best Food Product; Teaesk for Best Beverage Product; Antipodes for Best Beauty and Cosmetics Product; and The Naturool Co. for Best Home and Living Product.

Nikki Neate, Category Marketing Manager at Proper Crisps, said it’s a huge achievement and they are so happy to share it with the whole Proper Crisps team.

“It’s recognition for our team and their total obsession with making every bite matter. For customers. For consumers. For you. Naturally Good are the purveyors of premium, natural FMCG products so it’s like the Godfathers of Natural, saying, ‘Hey Proper, we love what you do and keep doing it.’ And we will.”

Neate said that producing a natural crisp is in the Proper Crisps DNA.

“We were doing Allergen-free and Plant-based before anyone else in the crisp aisle and using real ingredients. It started when our former owner Mina, picked rosemary and thyme from her garden, ground it, and added it to our crisps. That’s all. We make all our own seasonings from scratch, sourcing dried and dehydrated versions of the real ingredient – which means we never add chemical flavours, nothing artificial, no essences, let’s pretend flavours, or cheap fillers and of course allergens.”

Kavanagh congratulated all those who won and entered the awards.

“Being presented with such a prestigious award is a major accolade which will accelerate growth and interest in winning brands.”

The two-day event saw over 270 exhibitors from around the country showcase food, beverages, beauty, health, socially conscious products, homewares and more.
