The future is bright for independent convenience stores in Australia, as UCB turn the ignition on 2020 with a renewed energy reflecting their motto optimism, confidence and trust.

This was on show at a meeting today of trade partners and industry leaders across convenience and petroleum, QSR and foodservice, as UCB shared an overview of 2019 and their plan to continue to work to make the industry better in 2020.

In presentations from UCB executives including CEO Darren Park, Deseri-Joy Rickards, Andrew Tstsaronis and Jason Fiddes, among others, they shared their commitment to transform the business from the inside out and take on what they described as honest, transparent and fact based partnerships with their members and trade partners.

However delivering this, they said, has required big changes in team capability, culture and capital.

Also on the table was a call for honest feedback from trade partners, in order to better deliver market leading shopper conversion and better satisfaction to drive sales and profit growth.

And the need for the industry to tackle issues of sustainability, across not just pack types but also supply chains was also noted.
