Founder of the innovative P&C chain Jack & Co., Wade Death, has taken on another role, that of board president of The Australasian Convenience and Petroleum Marketers Association (ACAPMA).

Mr Death is the NSW ACAPMA board representative and has served on the board since 2009.

Mr Death said he was excited about taking on the role, and keen to play his part in “helping to strengthen ACAPMA’s representation of fuel retailers in Australia and to develop industry support services that address some of the more pressing challenges facing our industry”.

Mr Death is well known within the petrol and convenience industry for his business Jack & Co; an innovative convenience model which combines traditional fuel retailing with a modern fresh food offer.

Jack & Co. was founded in January 2012, and operates stores on Sydney’s North Shore and on the NSW Mid North Coast. The company has twice won the Australasian Association of Convenience Stores (AACS) Independent Retailer Store of the Year award (2014 and 2015).

Prior to founding Jack & Co, Mr Death worked for Caltex, in a variety of roles ranging from retail manager to general manager.

Mr Death has also participated in a number of industry forums and presented to the 2015 C&I Expo and was recently profiled in C&I Retailing magazine.

ACAPMA represents the interests of the downstream petroleum industry and, following the resignation of Philip Molineux, Mr Death will fill the role until the position comes up for election in the second half of 2017.

Mr Molineaux has resigned the role of president in order to focus on his role as CEO of the Bonney Group, a leading Tasmanian energy solutions and transport logistics business, however he will continue to represent the industry as a member of the ACAPMA Board
